A Little Shower of Spring

Weeping Cherry
It's only been a few years since this lovely thing was not much more than a chopstick with a few leaves on the top.  Variety?  Unknown.  This was a "passalong" plant from a neighbor up the road, the only weeping seedling from her huge and beautiful pink, flowering cherry.

Didn't know if it would live.
Didn't know if it would continue to have a weeping habit.
Didn't know if it would be pink.

These are the surprises that continue to make gardening a serendipitous delight.
Right now I'm seeing the world through rose colored blossoms!

Happy April 1st!  Happy Spring to everyone!

  1. Very pretty!
This morning's poem on Garrison Keillor's "Writer's Almanac" was "It Will Be Summer--Eventually" by Emily Dickenson. It felt so appropriate!

The sharing of ideas, experience and helpful information between one gardener and another has always been the very best of gardening traditions.
