The Peacocks are Here!

The young peacocks have arrived and are settling down in their pen.  These are about half grown.  The long, elegant tails are just beginning to show and will develop over the next eighteen months.  Once the boys are acclimated to their new surroundings here at our farm, they will be let loose to free range the farm - undoubtably bringing havoc in their wake.  Let the entertainment begin!

  1. I cant wait till thy wake you up by standing on the fence along the pool. There will be shriking dogs and much fun will be had by all!!!

  2. eeeehoooww eeeehoooowwww
I can't stand it!!! You have peacocks!!!

I love those them...I grew up near the Cleveland Zoo where they wander freely...their call is one of my favorites sounds in the world...and every year on Memorial Day weekend my family traveled to visit friends who lived across from an estate where we again got to hear that fabulous calling.

I am so excited for your new adventure...or have you lived with these guys before? What prompted you to bring them in? Do you still have the chickens too? Will everyone co-exist?

The sharing of ideas, experience and helpful information between one gardener and another has always been the very best of gardening traditions.
